The Company:

This Professional Conference Organiser are an incredibly fast growing and well respected conference and events company, with a relaxed but highly efficient office and work from home environment. The majority of their work is managing conferences on behalf of Association and Society clients. They are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their rapidly growing team!

The Role:

The Senior Project Manager will report to the Senior Management Team & Executive Directors. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading major projects from conceptualisation to completion for their clients while proactively guiding and developing junior team members.

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Ensure projects are on time and within budget through exemplary service delivery
  • Communicate effectively and clearly to foster growth and development for all team members
  • Effectively manage the work and resourcing of all team members for each project
  • Demonstrate a proactive, flexible approach to problem-solving both internally and for projects/clients
  • Have a complete understanding of the status and progress of all events under their guidance
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with all clients, staff & stakeholders
  • Provide strategy-based advice to clients to maximise their opportunity to achieve event/association-based goals and KPIs
  • Repeat event forward planning, negotiation and forecasting to secure the best destination/venue solution for the client’s needs
  • Facilitate budget planning, development & cost control with organising committee involvement
  • Quoting, negotiation and contract documentation sign off
The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as an Event Manager, Conference Manager or Project Manager within a PCO or Association. Proven experience working on large, complex multi-day conferences and symposiums is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, adapt and respond effectively under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direction to colleagues which binds the team together, both at times of success and failure
  • Demonstrated ability to source new work through existing clients and delegates attending events
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently mentor and/or lead more than 8 projects at a time, without effecting the progress of other projects
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively lead a varying number of staff and keep them motivated, productive and in good humour
  • Exercised discretion and appropriate personal judgement in arriving at key decisions which may impact the business and/or your colleagues
  • Previously demonstrated ability to consistently prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Be highly motivated to achieve a great result for all projects
  • Excellent computers skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent reading and writing skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for events when required
