The Company:

This great Association that services professionals all across NSW are looking for a Conference and Event Manager to join their growing team. The Association provides advocacy, leadership, professional development, and support to their members, as well as providing a range of services to the sector that they represent.

The Role:

The Conference and Event Manager role will report to the Professional Development Manager. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination and delivery of the associations event and program calendar. These events include conferences, forums, award dinners, gala nights, meetings, networking events, and programs.

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Venue liaison including AV, catering and onsite logistics
  • Identifying and securing speakers in line with budgets, profiling members and industry speakers where possible
  • Financial management including budget development, managing registrations to meet revenue targets and managing expenses to meet margin targets
  • Managing all vendors and suppliers ensuring value for money and exceptional service
  • Event logistics including registrations, name badges, onsite collateral
  • Working with membership department to design the member component
  • Securing sponsorship income and working with sponsors leading up to the event
  • Working with the marketing coordinator in developing and implementing the marketing campaign
  • Post event communications
  • Providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders
The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have experience working as an Event Coordinator or Event Manager within an Association, and will have experience working on conferences, programs and forums and working with committees for content. The candidate will have excellent attention to detail, and will have outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in administration including email correspondence, contracts and invoicing
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of computer applications including advanced word, excel, PowerPoint and CRM experience
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data for reporting purposes
  • Exceptional and effective interpersonal skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and resolve issues
  • Proven ability to manage one’s own time and assist others to set priorities, plan and organise to meet specific timeframes and allocated tasks
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership to resolve factors that may influence the delivery of service in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to gain cooperation and build effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels
