Our client is an exciting creative events agency based in Melbourne who thrives on creating sensational events with a difference. With a client base in the education, automotive, sport, financial and corporate spaces, this client is known for creating activations and events that wow audiences.
The Role:
The Account Director will report to the Director, and will have multiple direct reports from the Account Managers, Producers & Creatives. The Account Director is to lead and maintain relationships with their clients and guide the team, providing overall direction and long-term growth opportunities. The Account Director will have a birds-eye view on Company accounts and will create conditions where others thrive and produce the best possible work.
Key Responsibilities include;
The Ideal Candidate will have extensive experience working as an Account Manager / Senior Account Manager within an Events Agency. Proven experience of owning and managing large key accounts with exceptional client service relationship skills is required.

The Role:

The Account Director is to lead and maintain relationships with their clients and guide the team, providing overall direction and long-term growth opportunities. The Account Director will have a birds-eye view on Company accounts and will create conditions where others thrive and produce the best possible work.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Ownership of client relationships as per the defined relationship strategy for each client
- Understand the client commercial framework and work with the Director and senior account leadership to ensure business is run profitably
- Directly manage select, high-level/visibility accounts
- Deliver innovative and ambitious strategic and commercial solutions that balance client and Company values working closely with colleagues and clients
- Collaborate with the Director to identify business development opportunities within existing and prospective clients
- Responsible for meeting business KPI’s and translating into innovative, executional business plans that deliver business value
- Manage a multi-disciplinary team ensuring all team members are delegated work appropriate for their level and experience and that the team remains challenged and engaged
- Ensure the team build strong relationships with their counterparts to deliver outstanding client service
- Objective setting and KPI tracking – defining objectives and related performance indicators and ensuring these are met
- Deliver Performance Reviews including development plans for direct reports and provide 1:1 coaching on a variety of topics on an ongoing basis
- Manage internal and external conflicting interests as they arise
- Work with the team to manage and oversee the creation of all key client account business proposals, tenders and budgets etc.
- Ensure timely and successful delivery of projects according to client needs, timings, budget and event objectives
- Commit to a solution-oriented mindset and respond to client requests in a timely manner
- Use client feedback to improve customer experience
- Provide post event reporting and analysis as needed
The Ideal Candidate will have extensive experience working as an Account Manager / Senior Account Manager within an Events Agency. Proven experience of owning and managing large key accounts with exceptional client service relationship skills is required.
- Proven leadership experience, ideally managing a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent relationship building and maintaining skills, for both clients and internal relationships
- Experience in strategic planning
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Proven ability to set and follow strict timelines and budgets
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills are highly desirable
- Exceptional client services skills
- Previous experience working in an Events Agency as a Senior Account Manager is highly desirable
